Strada Investment Group (SIG) is planning to build a mixed-use complex in Oakland, California, the US.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use complex on 0.5ha of land. It will be developed in two phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a 15-story on a 21,387m2 with 258 residential units, 1,114m2 of commercial space, 450m2 of retail space, a public plaza and 150 parking spaces.
The second phase includes the construction of a 13-story, 300-room hotel. However, the plans for the second phase is yet to be finalized as SIG is also considering other two options for the second phase, with a 13-story, 262-unit residential tower or a 10-story, 18,580m2 office building.
Arquitectonica has been appointed as architect and Sitelab Urban Studio as a design consultant.
SIG presented preliminary project plans to Oakland City Council (OCC) and signed a one-year exclusive negotiating agreement to develop the proposed site in June 2013.
In April 2015, SIG held community consultations and presented design plans.
In July 2015, OCC reviewed the project plans for final design approvals.
On September 8, 2015, OCC agreed to a development deal with SIG allowing them to purchase the site for US$6.45 million.
SIG is in the process of seeking approvals from the Oakland City Council.
