Freeport of Riga (FoR) along with SIA Systems Terminal (SIA) is planning to construct a multimodel terminal in Riga, Latvia.
The project involves the construction of a multimodel terminal with 116,000 TEU/year cargo capacity on 6.1ha of land. It includes the construction of a 245m long quay wall with 14.5m depth, loading and unloading area, access roads, administrative buildings and parking facilities, and the installation of machinery.
The European Commission will provide US$22 million for the project.
The planning activities are underway and expected to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2018.
