Smart Growth Design Inc. (SGD) is planning to build a residential complex in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, the US.

The project involves the construction of a residential complex comprising 248 units on 6.5ha of land and will be developed in two phases.

The first phase includes the construction of five three-story apartment buildings, four six-bay garages and a clubhouse at 440 Hartford Turnpike, and the second Phase includes the construction of three and four-story apartment buildings, an internal clubhouse at 526 Hartford Turnpike.

On June 17, 2015, MassHousing issued site approval for the project.

In November 2015, SGD applied for the permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals for the project.

The Town of Shrewsbury Planning Board conducted a public hearing on the project plans on December 14, 2015.

Subject to the grant of a comprehensive permit, SGD has to obtain final approval from the State Government and apply for a building permit.

In March 2016, project plans were rejected.

In June 2016, SGD resubmitted the plans to the council and secured approval on November 28, 2016.

Design activities are underway.
