Stadion Feyenoord (SF) and Feyenoord Rotterdam N.V. (FR) are jointly planning to construct a stadium in South Holland, the Netherlands.
The project involves the construction of a football stadium with 63,000 seating capacity. It includes the construction of three rings, a movable roof, sports and parking facilities, and the installation of floodlights safety and security systems.
In January 2014, the consortia, architects, and planners were invited to submit their respective plans for the construction of the new stadium. However, in March 2015, the proposed plans were rejected due to the funding issue.
The project was placed on hold in December 2015, later the plans were revived and Nieuwe Maas was finalized as the location for the stadium in early 2016.
OMA has been appointed as an Architect, Artisan Architects as the Design consultant, Operatie NL as the Project Manager, First Dutch, and Kara Consult as the financial consultants, DGMR as an external safety consultant, Gemeente Rotterdam, Security Management Group, Spark as mobility consultant and Royal Haskoning DHV as a cost consultant for the project.
The Rotterdam City Council (RCC) to invest US$143 million out of which US$42 million for the new stadium, US$37 million for infrastructure and US$64 million for the purchase of land.
On May 11, 2017, RCC approved the project plans.
Detail design activities are underway. Construction work is expected to commence in 2019 with completion scheduled by 2022.
