Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) is planning to undertake the Trusan Hydroelectric Power Plant project in Sarawak, Malaysia.
The project involves the construction of a 275MW hydropower plant. It includes the construction of a power house, substations, three tunnels and a surge tank; the laying of transmission lines; the installation of turbines and generators.
In July 2011, the technical studies on the project were completed; In September 2011, SMEC was appointed to undertake the design review on the project.
In February 2015, a feasibility study on the project was completed.
In July 2017, the project received approval for the construction from the Sarawak government. The timeframe to begin construction on the project has yet to be announced, However, construction activities are expected to be completed in 2019.
