Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) is planning to construct the Lawas Hydroelectric Power Plant project in Sarawak, Malaysia.

The project involves the construction of 47MW hydroelectric power plant.

It will include the construction of a dam, a powerhouse, a substation, a spillway, headrace and tailrace tunnels, shafts, access roads and other related facilities, the installation of generators and turbines.

In February 2010, SEB completed technical studies on the project.

In February 2014, SEB invited companies to submit pre-qualification applications so that when it calls for tenders, it will have a list of pre-qualified contractors. The pre-qualification applications were for main civil works (dam and spillway) and electrical and mechanical works (powerhouse civil works).

Feasibility study activities are underway and construction is expected to commence after 2022.
