The project involves the construction of a waste-to-energy plant on 20ha of land. It includes the construction of storage tanks, pumping stations, compressor units and related infrastructure, the installation of safety systems, and the laying of pipelines.
SDMC will receive finance worth US$18 million under the Swachh Bharat Mission; US$8 million from the Power Ministry; and the remaining US$26 million from the civic body.
