The project involves the renovation of the barrage of 87.5 m height and 180m long. It includes cracks repairs, seal cladding, drainage works, consolidation of the barrage and the construction of a bypass pipeline to route the water stored in the dam to the north branch of Marseille during the renovation period.
In April 2013, the study contract was awarded to Tractebel Engineering.
A consortium of Scam TP (earthworks and canalization), Ludwig Pfeiffer (micro-tunnelling), TGH (acrobatic works) and Garelli (drilling and injection) are responsible for the renovation of the dam.
Segex and Setec are the contractors for the design and construction of the floating pipeline.
In July 2016, construction activities commenced.
