In 2008, Westfield St Lukes (WSL) applied for a change to the Auckland District Plan to enable a major expansion of its St Lukes shopping center.
In June 2010, the Auckland City Council has changed its associated concept plan, as well as the submissions lodged by members after a 9-day public hearing was conducted.
In June 2011, the public was included in the first stage of planning with a public hearing.
In 2012, Auckland Council approved the expansion proposal and the Environmental Court signed off on plans.
