Scentre Group (SCG) is undertaking the upgrade of a shopping complex in Adelaide, South Australia.
The project involves the construction of 19,200m2 of additional retail and commercial space with 65 retail units across two levels. It will be built in phases.
The first phase is further sub-divided into three stages.
The first stage includes a 3,000m2 expansion of the center's western end to create a retail area for fresh foods. The second stage includes the expansion of the food court on the shopping center's eastern side and the construction of 618 car parks, and the construction of 355 car parks to a new mezzanine level in the third stage.
The second phase of the project includes the expansion of the mall within the second floor and the construction of 239 additional car parks.
In October 2012, the Marion Council's Development Assessment Panel (DAP) approved the preliminary project plans.
On May 25, 2015, Marion City Council approved the proposed expansion plans.
In January 2016, SCG has appointed NSG Boffa as contractor to undertake and deliver the electrical components.
Construction on first phase food court completed in August 2016.
