La Société d’Aménagement et de Promotion de la Station de Taghazout (SAPST) in association with Groupe Alliances are planning to undertake the construction of the Taghazout Marriott Hotel & Resort in Agadir, Morocco.

The project involves the construction of a new hotel with 250 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar facilities, fitness center, meeting rooms, board rooms, parking facilities, 100 villas, two outdoor swimming pools and other leisure facilities.

In June 2013, the Groupe Alliances and Marriott International signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) . As per the MoU Marriott International is responsible for the management of the resort.

In January 2016, Groupe Alliances withdrawn from the project and sold its stake to SAPST.

In May 2017, Wilson Associates has been appointed as the interior designer of the project.

Design works are underway.

Scope

The project involves the construction of a hotel and resort on a 18ha area in Agadir, Morocco.

The US$85 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of a Marriott-branded hotel with 250 rooms

2. Construction of 100 villas

3. Construction of exhibition facilities

4. Construction of two signature restaurants and a bar

5. Construction of two outdoor swimming pools

6. Construction of access routes
