Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMS), a joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and M.P. Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVN) is planning to construct the ultra mega solar power park project in Madhya Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of a 750MW solar power plant on 1,500ha of land. It is being developed in three phases of 250MW each.
It includes the construction of 400x220 kV inter-state transmission substation, 220x33 kV internal evacuation substation, and other related infrastructure, the installation of solar panels and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
On April 28, 2015, project secured the approval from the Madhya Pradesh Government.
On May 8, 2015, SECI entered into a Joint Venture agreement with MPUVN to develop the project.
In March 2016, RUMS invited tender for the development of the project with a submission deadline as June 7, 2016.
In June 2016, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with RUMS to get green power from the plant to run metro.
On July 23, 2016, RUMS invited tender for the consultant to undertake the preparation of the detailed project report (DPR) for development of the project with a submission deadline as August 16, 2016.
RUMS issued request for qualification (RFQ) for the developer of the project with a submission deadline as January 23, 2017.
As of January 25, 2017, 20 developers have submitted their bids for developing the project. As of 20 developers, four namely SBG Clean Tech, Enel Green Power, Renew Power and Rosepetal, have submitted bids for developing the entire 750MW, while two others have submitted proposals for developing 500MW. The remaining 14 have submitted proposals for developing 250MW.
In March 2017, Acme Solar Ltd, Solenergi Pvt Ltd and Mahindra Renewables Pvt. Ltd selected as developers respectively for each 250MW unit.
On April 17, 2017, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) was signed between Delhi Metro Railways Corporation (DMRC) and Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMC). After completion of the project 24% power of the total capacity will be allocated to Delhi Metro.
