Réseau de Transport d’Electricité (RTE) is planning to develop an electrical transmission connection line between Iles d’Yeu-Noirmoutier offshore wind farm and Soullans in France.
The project involves the construction of approximately 55km of 220kv subsea and underground cable transmission line. It will include the laying of two pairs of 220kv submarine cables of 30km long, two pairs of 220kv underground cables of 25km long and the construction of a 220kv substation on a 3ha area, a connection junction between submarine cables and underground cables, connections to the existing transmission network and the installation of transformers and related equipment.
Study contract was awarded to BRL Ingénierie.
As part of the State's second offshore wind turbine tender, the consortium of Engie, EDP Renewables and The Caisse des Dépôts (Neoen Marine) was selected for the implementation of this wind farm on 3 June 2014.
On April 3, 2015, administrative authorities of Vendée and Maritime departments approved the study area on the lands belonging to their departments.
In the second quarter of 2015, the study activities commenced to finding out the passage of the route.
On May 9, 2017, Éoliennes en mer Ile d'Yeu and Noirmoutier (EMYN) has filed applications for administrative approvals (an application for a concession for the use of the public maritime domain and authorization under the "Water Act").
From July 13 to September 30, 2017 (excluding any meteorological interruptions), a geotechnical campaign of the marine subsoil is being carried out from a dynamically positioned vessel. By means of drilling and penetrometry techniques, a survey of the seabed will be carried out on half of the sites of future wind turbines.
Geotechnical study activities are underway and the obtaining of construction approvals and public inquiry is scheduled for 2018. The construction and installation phase is expected to start in 2019.
