The project involves the construction of a 50km road that will link the Sheikh Khalifa road from Maliha passing though Madam up to Al Shuwaib with three lanes in each direction. It includes the construction of eight flyovers, three bridges, interchanges, service roads and related infrastructure and the installation of signaling and safety systems, and the upgrade of a road from the Sharjah border to the Al Shuwaib roundabout.

The project is divided into two phases, the first stage extends over 33km and the rest of the project is covered in the second phase.

In September 2015, the project received approval from the Follow-Up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE.

Planning activities are underway.

Scope

The project involves the construction of a 50km road that will link the Sheikh Khalifa road from Maliha passing though Madam up to Al Shuwaib with three lanes in each direction in Dubai, the UAE.

The US$88 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of eight flyovers

2. Construction of three bridges

3. Construction of interchanges

4. Construction of service roads

5. Construction of related infrastructure

6. Upgrade of a road from the Sharjah border to the Al Shuwaib roundabout

7. Installation of signaling and safety systems
