Reseau Ferre de France (RFF) is developing the CDG Airport Express Line project in Paris, France.
The project involves the construction of a 32km rail link between Gare de l'Est and Charles de Gaulle (CDG) international airport. It will include the construction of a 700m underground tunnel, 8km new rail line, signalized intersections and the renovation of 24km of RER B rail line and other related facilities.
The project features a railway route in the shape of a comma and will connect La Gare de l'Est to Charles de Gaulle Airport in 20 minutes.
The route will introduce a frequency of one train per every 15 minutes with departures at fixed times. The project will be executed through public-private partnership.
In 2008, Vinci Concessions, a subsidiary of Vinci group was shortlisted for the project however due to lack of funding in March 2011, Vinci opted out of the project and then project was placed on hold.
On December 16, 2013, a new plan was proposed which would reduce the cost of the project by five times.
In January 2014, Ministry of Transport revived the project and plans to create a joint venture of Aeroports de Paris and Reseau Ferre de France (RFF).
The new joint venture will responsible for further studies and managing the entire project. The project will be developed in PPP model.
In February 2016, An agreement DBFO was signed between Groupe ADP, SNCF Réseau Subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts for the project.
In June 2016, the public inquiry has been relaunched.
Egis was appointed as a technical consultant in March 2017.
In November 2017, The Ministry of Economy announces US$2007 million loan for the CDG Airport Express Line project.
