The Road Development Agency (RDA), Zambia is undertaking the upgrade of a road in Zambia.
The project involves the upgrade of 70km Chienge to Kaputa road. It includes the construction of a 120m bridge over the Kalungwishi road, 10km of urban roads in Kaputa, interchanges, bridges, pedestrian walkways, toll ways and related facilities, and the installation of signaling and safety systems.
The project was initially awarded to Fratelli Locci, later the contract was terminated in 2013.
The project has been funded by the Government of Zambia.
In July 2014, Copperfield Mining Services and China Henan International Cooperation Group Co. Ltd were appointed as contractors and Rankin Engineering Consultants was appointed as an engineering consultant.
As of April 2017, 71% construction works completed.
Construction works are underway and the project is expected to be completed by October 2017.
The project involves the upgrade the 69km road from Chienge to Kaputa road in Zambia.
