The Rome City Council (RCC) is planning to undertake the construction of a bridge in Italy.
The bridge involves the construction of a 900m road at two levels, one for cars and buses and the other for cyclist and pedestrians. The bicycle lane will be 5m wide.
The bridge will be a two-floor structure with an arch bowstring type coming through the middle. It also includes the construction of two 5m high walls on the basin of the bridge for protection from floods, and the installation of electrical cabling, modern signaling and telecommunication systems and video monitoring system.
Studio Progreest, Teknika 2000 S.r.l. (Stefanelli Engineering Srl), GTA S.R.L, Progin Studio and Studio Tránsito have been appointed as study consultants, and Arenas & Asociados as an architect.
The project will receive US$190 million from the Italian Government through "Sblocca Italia" bill.
In June 2015, the US$27 million as part of the "Sblocca Italia" bill is planned to be invested in the project.
In February 2016, an agreement was signed between the city and the Public Works for Lazio for the development of the project.
As of July 2016, RCC is the process to acquire land for the project
RCC is waiting for the planning approvals and is expected to issue the tender for construction by the fourth quarter of 2017.
