Quantum Energy, Inc. (QEGY) is planning to undertake the construction of a refinery project in East Fairview, North Dakota, the US.
The project involves the construction of a new diesel refinery with a processing capacity of 20,000 barrel per day(BPD) on 58ha of land. It includes the construction of processing units, storage tanks, a distillation unit and related infrastructure, and the installation of equipment.
On March 11, 2014, QEGY entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement with Northstar Transloading LLC to purchase 32ha of land adjacent to the transloading facility.
In June 2014, Yellowstone Township Zoning board did not approved the project plans, citing Quantam Energy did not approached board for formal request to be on the board’s public meeting agenda.
On July 9, 2014, QEGY terminated Purchase and Sale Agreement with Northstar and QEGY is in the process of seeking other Fairview refinery site locations.
On August 26, 2014, QEGY entered into a two year option agreement with two separate landowners for a combined 58ha of land.
On May 26, 2015, QEGY amended its option agreements with the two landowners to extend the payment provision for the increment payments for a period of six months.
In January 2017, the project has been facing delay due to crash in oil prices and QEGY is in negotiation with the government to develop the project.
