Arena Central Developments LLP (ACDL), is a joint venture between Miller Developments and Pro Vinci Asset Management are jointly undertaking the Arena Central Mixed-use Development project in Birmingham, West Midlands, the UK.

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use community on 3.7ha of land. It includes the construction of 62,245m2 of office space, residential area on 49,238m2., hotel, 111,483m2 retail space, leisure and 2,500 car parking spaces.

The buildings are named as 1 Arena Central, 2 Arena Central, 3 Arena Central, 4 Arena Central, 5 Arena Central, Municipal Bank, Alpha Tower, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza and Dandara.

1 Arena Central involves the construction of an 8-story building on a 13,006m2 area. It includes the construction of 12,541m2 office space, 464m2 retail space, 1,950m2 of typical footplates, Installation of elevators and 68 car parking facilities.

2 Arena Central involves the construction of 13-story office building on 21,700m2 area and parking space. 3 Arena Central involves the construction of a 14-story building on 22,297m2 area. It also involves the construction of 21,661m2 of office space, 292m2 of retail space and or 66 car parking spaces, over 40 secure cycle spaces and associated locker and shower facilities.

Teaching spaces including auditoriums are being created on levels one and two of the building.

It will also include the construction of a 14-story, 250-bedroom Holiday Inn Express hotel, 400 residential units, restaurants, cocktail bars, a retail space, a leisure space, a library, and a car parking facility and the installation of elevators and security systems and the construction of related facilities.

Glenn Howells Architects has been appointed as architect for residential, Make Architects for commercial and Eric Kuhne (Civic Arts) for the remaining scope of the project.

DSM Demolition Group has been appointed to undertake demolition works at arena central and E C Harris is the Cost Consultant.

Galliford Try has been appointed as the Construction contractor for 1 and 2 Arena Central developments and Dandara development.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has been appointed as a lead consultant and Make Architects as architect for 3 Arena Central.

Gillespies has been appointed as the landscape architecture for the 2 Arena Central. Sisk Group has been appointed as the Contractor, KKA as an Architect, Baker Hollingworth Associates Ltd as Project Manager and Muir Associates UK Ltd as Structural Engineers for the Holiday Inn Express.

In April 2013, the project secured planning consent and later in the third quarter of 2014, a new planning application for two residential apartment buildings was submitted. Centre Island Ltd has been awarded the management contract for Holiday Inn hotel project.

ACDL submitted planning application to Birmingham city council. Birmingham City Council has given approvals for the 1 Arena Central in August 2014.

In April 2015, HSBC Bank formally signs an agreement to purchase 2 Arena Central.

In September 2015, construction works are commenced with a groundbreaking ceremony on the 2 Arena Central office building.

John Sisk & Son has been appointed as a construction contractor and Acivico Ltd as building regulation services consultant for the Holiday Inn.

In March 2016, plans unveiled for 3 Arena Central and ACDL submitted planning application to Birmingham City Council in September 2016.

In November 2016, ACDL secured planning approvals for 3 Arena Central from Birmingham City Council.

ACDL is in the process of securing funds for 1 Arena Central and 3 Arena Central.

On May 9, 2017, topping out ceremony held for 2 Arena.

In September 2017, ACDL awarded US$88 million construction contract to Galliford Try for 3 Arena Central.

Construction activities on the Holiday Inn completed and on 2 Arena Central are underway, with work on 2 Arena Central and 3 Arena Central are scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018 and 2020 respectively.

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use facility on 3.7ha of land in Arena Central, Birmingham, West Midlands, the UK.
