Petrogas Pvt Ltd (Petrogas), a joint venture of Isomeric Holdings bhd and LEPL Venture Pvt Ltd, is planning to build an LNG regasfication and floating storage terminal in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of an LNG regasfication and floating storage terminal with a minimum capacity of 5MTPA and will be developed in two phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a LNG terminal with a capacity of 5MTPA and the second phase includes the expansion of the capacity to 10MTPA.
The project includes the construction of storage facilities, processing units and related infrastructure, the installation of the machinery, equipment, control units, safety and security systems.
In January 2016, Petrogas entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Krishnapatnam Port Co Ltd and the Andhra Pradesh Government at the CII AP partnership summit in Visakhapatnam for the project development.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has agreed to grant necessary permissions to obtain the relevant environment clearances for the project.
Petrogas has received environmental clearance for the project.
Subject to approval, the first phase is expected to be completed in three years and the second phase will take another three years to complete.
