Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), is planning to develop a liquid natural gas terminal project in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The project includes construction of a new Liquid Natural Gas re-gasification terminal. Petrobras also planning to have a fertilizer plant near to gas terminal, for which a letter of intent was signed with the state government of Rio Grande do Sul.
The project also includes the construction of storage tanks, pumping stations, a packaging unit, processing units, warehouses, and administrative buildings, the installation of equipment, and the laying of pipelines.
In April 2014, Petrobras has signed a memorandum of understanding with Mitsui and the Government of Rio Grande do Sul for the feasibility study.
Feasibility studies were commenced in the second half of 2014.
Government of Rio Grande do Sul intends to organize its own regulation for the natural gas.
The project involves the construction of a gas terminal and fertilizer factory in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
