In October 2012, Persimmon and Elan submitted an outline planning application of the project to the North Devon Council.
In August 2013, Persimmon received approval for the outline planning application from the Barnstaple Town Council.
As of July 2014, the project faced delay due to opposition from local residents.
In September 2016, Persimmon and Elan submitted fully detailed planning application for up to 250 home.
Planning activities are underway.
