Pemex and Ministerio de Energía y Minas, Guatemala (MEM) announced plans to build the Salina Cruz-Escuintla gas pipeline project in Salina Cruz, Mexico.
The project involves the construction of a 600km pipeline. It includes the construction of pumping stations, interconnections, metering stations, gas storage tanks, control rooms, and related infrastructure facilities, the laying of gas pipelines and the installation of machinery and equipment.
This is a bi-national project being developed between Mexico and Guatemala. Out of 600km pipeline, 420km will be developed in Mexico and the remaining 180km will be in Guatemala.
Several companies from Russia, China, Spain and the United States are interested in participating in the investment for the construction.
Honduras is also interested in joining in this project.
Planning activities of the project are underway.
