PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Pelindo II), the Indonesia's state port operator,South Sumatra provincial government (SSPG), PT Hutama Karya Persero Tbk(Persero )are planning to undertake the development of the Tanjung Api-Api Port project in South Sumatra, Indonesia.
The project involves the construction of a port with Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on 2,030ha of land and an integrated industrial park and will be executed in five stages.
It includes the construction of ferry ports, railway lines, toll roads, quay walls, container space, a switch yard, administrative space and related infrastructural facilities.
Pelindo II has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Sumatra provincial government to develop the port.
In April 2016, Pelindo II is in the process of detailed discussions with Dubai Port Corporation (DPC) to jointly develop the project.
In July 2016, PT Hutama Karya Persero Tbk(Persero) signed a Mou with SSPG for the development of the project.
Oropesa Port Management has been appointed as the associate developer for the project and Some countries such as America, Britain, Australia, and Dubai is interested in investing in the project.
As of May 2017, Physical construction of the port has been completed and Planning activities along with the fund raising activities on the remaining phases are underway.
