P&A Associates (P&A), MacFarlane Partners (MFP) and Peebles Corporation (Peebles) are jointly undertaking the construction of a hotel in Pennsylvania, the US.
The project involves the redevelopment of an existing family court building into a new luxury hotel.
The project will include the demolition of Family Court Building, the construction of 199 hotel rooms, meeting facilities, restaurants and bar, shops, a spa, a 325m2 ballroom, fitness center and a parking facility, and the installation of safety and security systems
In July 2013, the Philadelphia City Council (PCC) requested developers to submit their proposals for the site.
In February 2014, P&A and Peebles's proposal was selected for the site redevelopment. Kimpton Hotels has been appointed as management contractor for the project.
MFP will finance US$30 million through equity for the project.
In March 2014, McKissack & McKissack was appointed construction contractor for the project.
In May 2014, planning approval was secured for the project.
The one-third of project cost would be financed through equity from MFP.
McKissack is in process of appointing sub-contractors for the project.
In January 2017, National Park Service approved the renovation plans for the project.
Construction works are expected to commence in 2017 and scheduled to be completed by June 2018.
