Panda Power Funds (Panda) is planning to expand a natural gas power facility in Sherman, Texas, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 450 to 500MW natural gas power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
The Sherman Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) Board of Directors approved a US$2.5 million development incentive for the project. The incentive will be paid in three installments based on company performance criteria outlined in the agreement.
In August 2015, Panda submitted an application for an air permit with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
In March 2016, Panda has filed a lawsuit against Electric Reliability Council of Texas for providing the flawed date on projected power demand which led to the development of Panda Sherman Power Project.
