Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) is planning to undertake the construction of a transmission line in Seychelles.
The project involves the construction of a 33kV transmission line. It includes the construction of a substation, the installation of transformers, power control units and the laying of transmission lines.
In November 2015, PUC secured US$31 million for the project. A sum of US$11 million will be received from Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), while the Saudi Fund for Development is providing the remaining US$20 million.
Planning activities are underway and the project is slated to be completed by 2020.
The project involves the construction of a 33kV transmission line in Maye, Seychelles.
The US$40 million project includes the following:
