Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is planning to undertake the Gippsland Line upgrade in Victoria, Australia.

The Gippsland Line Upgrade includes the duplicating track and building a new second platform at Bunyip and Longwarry stations, upgrading 20 level crossing detection devices, extending track duplication near Moe further East towards Traralgon, improving drainage at Morwell River, extending the crossing loop at Morwell, a new second platform at Morwell Station, duplicating 9km track between Morwell and Traralgon, duplicate the Avon River Bridge, installing modern rail signaling and building a new second platform at Traralgon Station, relocating train stabling at Traralgon.

The project is to be implemented in stages.

In April 2017, Victorian government announced US$320 million funding for the project and a separate US$70 million for the upgrade which will duplicate the Avon River Bridge, under Regional Rail Revival package.

In May 2017, the Victorian Government has allocated US$326 million as part of 2017–18 Budget.

Planning activities are underway. The funding agreement is expected to be signed on July 1, 2017.
