PT Medco Ratch Power Riau (PTMRPR) a special purpose company formed by a consortium of PT Medco Power Indonesia (PTMPI) and Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL (REGH) is planning to build a natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Tenayan Raya, Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia.
The project involves the construction of a 275MW natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant. It includes the construction of a substation, a powerhouse, a control room and gas storage tanks, the installation of generators and transformers, and the laying of 43km gas pipeline, transmission lines.
PTMRPR won a tender in late 2016 for Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT).
TNB & Partners and Norton Rose Fulbright has been appointed as legal advisers.
On April 7, 2017, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with PTMRPR.
Construction is expected to complete by 2021.
