PT Aceh Hydro Power Company (PT AHP) is planning to construct the Meureubo II Hydropower Plant in Sumatra, Indonesia.
The project involves the construction of a 59MW hydropower plant. It includes the construction of a dam, a powerhouse, a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of generators and transformers and the laying of transmission lines.
In 2011, Velcan Energy (ALVEL) incorporated the PT Aceh Hydro Power company as a special purpose vehicle for the development of the project.
In December 2013, ALVEL signed a consortium agreement with PT PJB (PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali), a subsidiary of PT PLN, to develop the project.
On October 22, 2015, a request for proposal (RFP) was issued for power purchase agreement (PPA).
In February 2016, project secured environmental approval.
On April 13, 2016, ALVEL cancelled the RFP process as the parties involved in the tender and PPA negotiation were unable to reach an agreement.
The project is facing delays due to administrative uncertainties and disagreement for PPA.
The project involves the construction of a 59MW hydropower plant in Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia.
