Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) and Browning Investments Inc. (BI) are planning to build a mixed-use community in West Lafayette, Indiana, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 650,321m2 mixed-use community on 182.1ha of land. It includes the construction of residential units, a 34,281m2 two five-story student apartment buildings with 841 beds known as Innovation Place Apartments, a hotel with a conference center, restaurants, 2322.57m2 of retail space, office and business space, research facilities, an industrial space, parking and related facilities.
In June 2016, PRF announced a partnership with BI to develop the project.
Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions has been appointed as associate developer; Hanbury, Cripe Architects Engineers and IMEG Corp. (formerly known as KJJW Architects) are appointed as the architects; Walsh Group and Smoot Construction as the design-build contractors for Innovation Place Apartments.
In October 2016, PRF submitted initial sketches with county planners for Innovation Place Apartments.
Construction activities on Innovation Place Apartments are expected to commence by the first quarter of 2018 and to be completed in 2019.
