The Republic of Korea Public Procurement Service (PPS) is building a breakwater in Ulsan, South Korea.
The project involves the construction of a south breakwater (Section 2-2). It includes the construction of a rubble-mound-extend berm, a primary layer of acropode units, a secondary armoring of rock, a sewage outfall and other associated works through the breakwater.
On February 16, 2017, PPS issued a US$264 million tender for construction contractor with a submission deadline of May 26, 2017.
In July 2017, POSCO E & C consortium has won the construction contract of value US$3 million.
The consortium includes POSCO Construction (42%), Dongbu Construction (15%), Daeyang Industrial (7%), KR Industrial (6%), Youngjin General Construction, Wonbong Construction, Dongwoo Development, Taesung Construction, (5%).
In January 2018, Dong-Ah Geological Engineering Co Ltd (Dong-Ah) was appointed as the DCM construction contractor.
