Power Partners Generation Pty Ltd (PPG) is planning to undertake the construction of a biogas power plant in New South Wales, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a 55MW biogas power plant, an on-site switching station to connect to the electricity grid and a gas storage system consisting of an underground pipeline and aboveground storage tank.
It will include the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, a waste treatment plant, a raw material storage tank, a water pipeline and chimneys, the installation of turbines, transformers and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project will also include the construction of a floating cover over the top of the waste lagoons at the site, where the solid matter is broken down and gives off methane and other gases. The cover would be made from high-density polyethene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) reinforced the material.
In May 2014, the project was under consideration by the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure.
As of June 2017, the project is being exhibited for the public comment.
The project involves the construction of a 55MW biogas-based power plant at Inglegreen in Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia.
