The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) is planning to undertake the construction of a LNG storage terminal in Western Visayas, Philippines.
The project involves the construction of a LNG storage terminal with a capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). It includes the construction of a 200MW power plant, a LNG jetty, gas storage tanks, re-gasification facility, liquefaction plant, a powerhouse and a substation, and the installation of generators and transformers, and laying of pipelines and transmission lines.
In July 2017, PNOC received six proposals from undisclosed companies of China, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to co-build the project.
PNOC is reviewing the six proposals and will be submitted to the DOE. Once PNOC receives the final decision from DOE, it will start another review on the project, this time on the project cost.
Construction works are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2018 and slated to be completed by 2020.
The project involves the construction of a LNG import terminal with a capacity of 5MTPA at Malampaya, Western Visayas, Philippines.
