The Project Management Unit No. 7 (PMU7), under the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam is planning to build an expressway to link Ho Chi Minh City to Tay Ninh in Vietnam.

The project involves the construction of a six-lanes 65km expressway, running parallel to National Highway 22, from the intersection of Beltway 3 and Provincial Road 15 in Hoc Mon District to the Moc Bai border gate. It will be developed in two phases.

It includes the construction of pedestrian ways, access roads, service roads, bridges, intersections and related infrastructure, and the installation of signaling and safety systems.

In September 2015, PMU7 submitted plans to the Ministry of Transport for consideration.

In February 2016, the Government gave green light to seek investors and develop the project under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.

Planning activities are underway.

Scope

The US$650 million project includes the following:
