The Bucharest City Council (Primaria Municipiului Bucuresti) (PMB) plans to undertake the construction of an elevated highway in Bucharest, Romania.
The project involves the construction of a 13.15km elevated highway. It includes the construction of complex express road structure, with six-lane streets, bridges, train track crossovers, two 2km three-lane tunnels, connecting the West to the East of the city, via the North.
The project will be developed through public-private partnership (PPP) model.
In May 2008, a plan was proposed to build a 25km elevated highway to connect North and South Bucharest.
