Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIBD) is planning to undertake the Exhibition and Conventional Center project in Mohali, Punjab, India.
The project involves the construction of an exhibition and conventional center on 20.23ha of land.
It includes the construction of a 4,000-capacity convention center, exhibition halls, a 929m2 area exhibition ground, an open plaza, five-star and three-star hotels, service apartments, a retail facility, food courts and commercial and office complexes, and the installation of musical fountains along with Punjab haat and theme park.
Feedback Infra Ltd has been appointed as the lead consultant for the project.
In January 2014, Shapoorji Pallonji Group expressed its interest in investing in the development of the project.
On August 5, 2015, Request For Proposal (RFP) was issued with the submission deadline being October 6, 2015, however the submission deadline was extended multiple times; however the latest submission deadline is on March 22, 2016.
The contractor is expected to undertake design and engineering, financing,procurement, construction, commission and operation and maintenance of the Convention & Exhibition Center for a concession period of 50 years.
IDOM has been appointed as Design Consultant.
As of July 2017, the project is being delayed until 2018 as there is no fund allocation proposed in 2017 budget for the project.
