Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (PGE) is undertaking the expansion of the Turów power plant in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland.
The project involves the construction of a 496MW coal-fired power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a cooling tower, and a substation, the installation of turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
In March 2014, a consortium of Budimex SA, Hitachi Power Europe GmbH and Tecnicas Reunidas SA was awarded US$884 million construction contract.
