JSC Partnership Fund (PF), a state-owned shareholding company jointly with its daughter company, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) are planning to undertake the construction of a combined cycle power plant project in Kvemo Kartli province of Georgia.
The project involves the construction of a 230MW natural gas fired combined cycle power plant.
It includes the construction of a substation, and a powerhouse, the installation of two GE 6FA gas turbine, two heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), one steam turbine, natural gas compressors, main transformers and Assisting Transformers and the laying of transmission line.
GE Energy has been appointed as Gas Turbines supply contract; Doosan and Alstom as supply of Steam Turbines; Aalborg, Nem, Nooter Erikson, Foster Wheeler, Doosan, Cmi and Rafako as supply of steam generators; Best, Koncar, Hyundai, Siemens and Areva as supply of Transformers; Atlas Copco as supply of Gas Compressors; Atlas Copco, Ingressol, Hamamcioglu, Dalgic, Compare and Emek as supply of Air Compressors; Emek, Sud Kabel, Nexans, Prysmian, Hes, Turkkablo, Demirer and Surter as supply of Cables for the project
The project is jointly financed by PF and GOGC. On March 15, 2016, the RFP was issued with April 15, 2016 as the submission deadline. On September 28, 2016, China Tianchen Engineering Co.,Ltd. appointed as Construction Contractor.
On October 26, 2016, foundation stone laying ceremony was held.
On March 7, 2017, public discussion of Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA) was held.
In June 2017, Pöyry was appointed as engineering services consultant.
Pöyry and Betulium have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for co-operation bio-based businesses.
Construction works are expected to complete by 2019.
