PARC Craigmillar Ltd (PARC), a joint venture between Edinburgh Council and the EDI Group Ltd, is undertaking the construction of Craigmillar Town Center project in Edinburg, Scotland, UK.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use facility on 20.2ha of land.
It includes the construction of 600 new homes, two community high school, public library, supermarket, food store, retail units, parking spaces and other related facilities.
The US$50 million community high school and public library are located at the heart of the new town center.
The area will be improved with more pedestrian walkways, widening of Niddrie Mains Road at key junctions, better shop frontages and planting of 250 new lime trees.
Broadway Malyan has been appointed as the design architect, Graham Construction as the construction contractor for the project.
Construction of the new East Neighbourhood Center and Craigmillar Library were completed in the fourth quarter of 2012.
In September 2014, Parc Craigmillar has submitted the revised master plan of the project.
Clark Contracts has been appointed as construction contractor for developing Lidl supermarket with Barak Construction, CCG Construction Group and Cruden Building & Renewals Ltd for the residential developments on the project.
Anderson Bell & Christie has been appointed as architect.
In December 2015, Parc Craigmillar submitted an application of first phase comprises of 121 homes.
On May 23, 2016, Construction works commenced on Lidl supermarket of the Craigmillar Town Center and completed in March 2017.
Dunedin Canmore Housing Association has been appointed as construction contractor for the development of affordable homes.
In January 2017, construction work commences for 111 new affordable homes and expected to complete by the third quarter of 2018.
Work on the remaining project is expected to complete by 2025.
