Omega Energy (Omega) is planning to undertake the Hunter resource and energy recovery facility project in New South Wales, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a waste processing and energy facility with a processing capacity of 200,000 tonnes of waste per year on 5ha area. It will be developed in three phases.
The first phase includes the construction of a facility with a processing capacity of 90,000tonnes of waste per year. The scope for the second and third phase is yet to be revealed.
The project will include the construction of processing units, a powerhouse, storage facilities and other related facilities, and the installation of a steam turbine generator and equipment.
Omega has been using graphite plasma arc gasification technology and ArcSec has been appointed as the technical consultant.
It is anticipated that community consultation will commence after the Department of Planning and Environment has issued the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements.
