Olive Energy Sdn Bhd (Olive) is planning to build a biomass power plant in Sarawak, Malaysia.
The project involves the construction of a 12.1MW biomass power plant. It includes the construction of a cooling tower, a chimney, a substation, storage tanks, ash collector units and related infrastructure, and the installation of steam turbines and generators.
On March 4, 2014, Olive signed a Renewable Energy Power Purchase Plant Agreement (REPPA) with Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB). The agreement will see SEB purchasing energy from an alternative source and that is biomass energy.
Titan Energy Sdn. Bhd. will undertake the engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
On November 20, 2015, a foundation stone laying ceremony was held at the project site.
On March 2, 2017, the project was certified under Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS). The GTFS is a special financing scheme introduced by the government to support the development of Green Technology (GT) in Malaysia.
