Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OGE) is planning to upgrade the Mustang Power Plant in Oklahoma, the US.
The project involves the modernization of the natural gas units at the Mustang Power Plant. It will include the construction of processing units, storage tanks, the installation of machinery, safety systems and power related facilities.
On August 6, 2014, OGE filed an application with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) seeking approval of a plan to be in compliance with federal environmental mandates and to modernize Mustang Power Plant.
In June 2015, preliminary plans for the project were rejected by OCC and in December 2015, OCC rejected application for preapproval of environmental compliance and replacement generation costs.
On December 11, 2015, a routine construction permit was issued by Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) allowing the installation of seven new simple cycle turbines at Mustang Power Plant
The application by OGE is currently under technical review at the DEQ.
