The Ministry of Health, New South Wales (NSWMoH) is planning to undertake the construction of a hospital in New South Wales, Australia.

The project involves the construction of a new hospital on 40ha of land.

It includes the construction of rooms with 630 beds, an intensive care unit, an emergency short-stay unit, operating theaters, laboratories, an ambulance station, a cafeteria, parking and related facilities.

The project will be developed in public-private partnership (PPP) basis.

Woods Bagot has been appointed as architect; APP Corporation and Donald Cant Watts Corke (DCWC) have been appointed as project manager and cost manager for the project respectively.

In December 2013, New South Wales Government allocated US$17 million to acquire the site for the project.

Preparation of a master plan and a business case is underway and is likely to be submitted by the end of 2014 for approval and funding consideration. Once approved, detailed design and construction of the new hospital will begin.

The project will be funded with US$29 million from Hunter Infrastructure and Investment Fund.

The business case for the project was submitted on December 18, 2015.

On June 21, 2016, NSW government committed US$4 million in the 2016 - 2017 state budget for the project.

In September 2016, NSWMoH invited expressions of interests from the private sector experienced hospital operators to build and deliver the project, with a submission end date on October 19, 2016.

Initially project was planned under PPP model but due to the massive rise in population, NSWMoH decided to revise the plans of the project.

On June 20, 2017, NSW government committed US$3.8 million in the 2017 - 2018 state budget for the project.

Construction activities are expected to commence in 2018 and slated for completion by 2020.

The project involves the construction of a hospital on a 40ha area in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia.

The US$342 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of rooms with 630 beds

2. Construction of an intensive care unit and an emergency short-stay unit

3. Construction of an ambulance station

4. Construction of operating theaters

5. Construction of laboratories

6. Construction of access roads

7. Construction of a cafeteria

8. Construction of parking facilities

9. Construction of related facilities
