The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) plans to upgrade a road in Oslo, Norway.
The project involves the construction of a 13km road from Klemetsrud, Ryen to Ulvenon on E6. It will be developed in four stages.
The first stage includes the upgrade of E6/E18 between Klemetsrud and Ryen and a bicycle express road along the route.
The second stage includes the construction of a road in the tunnel between E6 Abildsø and Ulven.
The third stage includes the ring 3 Ryen-Bryn with access to Bryn Public Transport terminal and conversion of ring 3 to urbanized main road.
The fourth stage includes the Conversion of E6 Ring 3 between Bryn, Teisen and Ulven.
The project also includes the construction of culverts, service roads, and the installation of signal and sign boards.
For the tunnel between E6 Abildsø and Ulven, NPRA has identified three options includes.
Option I : E6 will have two tunnels with open stretches in between in Bryns-Brynseng area;
Option II : E6 will pass in one long continuous tunnel with split against Ring 3 underground and
Option III : E6 will pass through a tunnel from Abildsø to Smalvollveien, north of Tvetenveien, it also triggers a new Teisen tunnel. NPRA is conducting feasibility studies on three options.
Aas-Jakobsen, in cooperation with Norwegian Public Roads Administration, will prepare a regulation plan for the first stage and the environmental impact assessment (EIA) to the project.
The zoning for the first stage and the EIA is expected submitted to the City of Oslo Planning and Building Services in the second quarter of 2019.
The public consultation on the project is expected to be held in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Subject to approval, construction on the first stage is expected to commence in 2022 and total project to be completed by 2027.
