The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) is planning to construct a floating bridge in Hordaland County, Norway.
The project involves the construction of a 5km, 550m deep and a four-lane floating bridge over Bjornafjorden. It includes the construction of bridge pillars and supporting walls, and the installation of signaling and safety systems.
Ramboll Group has been appointed as feasibility study consultant; COWI, Aas-Jakobsen and Johs Holtas as planning consultants; L2 Arkitekter as an architect; and Global Maritime and Skanska as sub-contractors of the project.
On October 17, 2015, NPRA invited tenders from consultants to undertake planning and engineering design services, with a submission deadline on November 23, 2015.
Teknisk Data AS has been awarded a contract to deliver a conceptual design, PLAN arkitekter has been appointed as an architect of the project. Moss Maritime has been appointed as an engineering designer of the project. NGI has been appointed to provide Geo-technical engineering and submerged foundations services.
Feasibility study works are underway.
