The project involves the construction of an ethanol production facility on 20,000ha of land. It includes the construction of processing units, storage units, vacuum chambers and access roads, and the installation of control units, turbines, boilers, transformers and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project will be financed through a joint partnership with foreign partners.
In February 2017, NNPC and BNSG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a foreign firm for the establishment of the plant and feasibility study on the project was completed.
