Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) through National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) is undertaking the construction of a road project in Assam, India.
The project involves the construction of 26km, four-lane highway from Jamugurihat to Biswanath Chariali bypass. It includes the construction of carriageways, road separators, pedestrian ways, toll stations and related infrastructure and the installation of signalling systems.
On March 31, 2015, NHIDCL awarded US$63 million construction contract to Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd (HCC).
On May 1, 2015, the foundation stone was laid.
On May 10, 2016, NHIDCL terminated the contract signed with HCC and planned to issue fresh tenders in July 2016.
On July 6, 2016, NHIDCL invited request for proposal (RFP) for construction contract with a submission deadline of September 9, 2016.
In December 2016, T K Engineering Consortium was appointed as construction contractor.
Indian Technocrat Ltd was appointed as consulting engineer.
Construction works are underway.
