National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is planning to undertake the Kolkata to Dhanbad expressway in India.
The project involves the construction of a six-lane 227km expressway from Kolkata to Dhanbad. The proposed expressway will pass through Bankura and Purulia districts.
The project will include construction of supporting walls, service roads, road separators, pedestrian ways, toll station and infrastructural related facilities, and the installation of signals and safety system.
It will include the construction of dividers and a link road from Haldia to connect Expressway. The proposed expressway will not have any crossings on its stretch and will run through Arambag, Dankuni, parts of Bankura and Purulia districts and Ghatal before reaching Dhanbad.
The project will be developed under public-private partnership (PPP) model following design-build- finance-operate (DBFO) approach.
Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed as a consultant and major scope of services include fixing of the alignment using satellite imageries on the project.
As of June 2016, NHAI received approvals from the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways to conduct feasibility studies.
The project involves the construction of a six-lane 277Km expressway between Kolkata to Dhanbad in India.
