New Gold Inc. (NGD) plans to undertake the development of infrastructural facilities at Blackwater Gold Mine project in British Columbia, Canada.
The project involves the construction of 140km-long, 230kV transmission line which will connect the gold mine with an existing BC Hydro substation south of the community of Endako.
It also includes the construction of 16km mine access road starting at 125km of the Kluskus-Ootsa FSR; 20km long fresh water pipeline; 1.7km long and 100m wide airstrip and the upgrade of existing two-lane industrial road and other related infrastructure facilities.
AMEC Environment & Infrastructure, Allnorth Consultants Ltd, Palmer Environmental Consulting Group Inc and GeoSim Services Inc. have been appointed as environmental consultants for the project.
On October 30, 2015, NGD submitted application for environmental impact assessment (EIA) approvals.
As of October 17, 2017, NGD spent US$4 million on provisional EIA.
NGD is in the process of obtaining EIA approvals for the project development.
